Hello parents and students! There are many exciting things going on right now, in our class and in the school. First, we will be having a small Valentine's Day celebration on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 14th. Mrs. Shumaker will be contacting you with more information, but we will basically be exchanging valentines, playing a few games, and having snacks.

Secondly, Pine Castle Pioneer Day is coming up on Saturday, February 25th. The entire school will be participating in the parade, and we will have a very fun float for the third grade class. If you would like more information on how you can contribute or volunteer to help make our float a success, please contact Joy Harden at Joy_Harden@bellsouth.net.

Finally, as you are aware, the FCAT test is coming up in April, specifically April 16 - 20.  If you would like to help your child prepare for the test, I recommend purchasing an FCAT practice workbook. These can be found at Miller's School Supply, in the shopping center at the corner of Orange Avenue and Holden. You may also be able to find some at Barnes and Noble. In addition, there is a great website, www.fcatexplorer.com, that you can access from home. Your child's first and last name is his or her username, and the 8-digit birthday is the password. For example, if your son was born on January 1st, 2001, his password would be 01012001.
